The Zeco Kids School Crew Neck T-Shirt (Twin Pack) in Navy is a children's navy school uniform T-shirt from Zeco Schoolwear, made from 100% combed cotton at 200–210gsm heavyweight and manufactured in India. A non-seasonal piece in the Back to School collection, it features a crew neck with a taped neck seam, a regular fit, and comes as a twin pack — for boys and girls from 2 years through to 18 years. Navy is the single most widely used school uniform colour in the UK across both primary and secondary level, and a navy crew neck T-shirt is one of the most commonly purchased school uniform items in the country.
Navy dominates UK school uniform in a way no other colour does. More UK schools specify navy as their primary uniform colour than specify any other shade — including black, which is the second most common secondary school colour. At primary level, navy sweatshirts and polo shirts are the default across a large proportion of state primary schools; at secondary level, navy blazers, sweatshirts, and trousers are the standard format in comprehensives, academies, and independent schools alike. The navy crew neck T-shirt worn as a base layer beneath a navy sweatshirt is the foundational daily uniform piece for a very large number of UK schoolchildren, and for these children it is a straightforward daily uniform purchase rather than an occasional or house-colour piece. The twin pack provides the minimum two-T-shirt rotation for a five-day school week without daily laundry pressure.
At 200–210gsm heavyweight combed cotton, this T-shirt is built to maintain its navy tone through the sustained weekly washing of a full academic year. Navy fading has a specific character: as the blue dye washes out over time, the colour shifts toward a lighter, greyed-out blue rather than a warmer tone, and the contrast between a faded navy T-shirt and a fresh navy sweatshirt or blazer becomes increasingly visible. The heavyweight construction slows this process, and the smooth combed cotton surface resists the pilling and surface dulling that makes faded navy appear grey-blue rather than a clean dark blue. The taped neck seam maintains the neckline shape on a colour where internal construction and distortion are most visible against a dark, uniform background.

Care: Machine wash at 40°C with similar dark colours — other navies, dark blues, blacks, and dark greys. Navy is less prone to dye transfer than red, but washing with whites at high temperatures can still result in a blue tint on pale garments. Wash inside out on every cycle to protect the outer colour face from drum abrasion, which causes surface fibres to lift and the navy to appear lighter and less saturated over time. Avoid biological detergents for regular use: the enzymes in biological formulas are particularly aggressive toward blue cotton dyes and accelerate the greying-out of navy more than they affect other colours. Use a colour-safe non-biological detergent. Air dry or tumble dry on low heat away from direct sunlight, which fades the blue dye preferentially and creates uneven pale patches. Iron on the reverse at a medium setting.
